Here's exactly how the price gets to $7,999

Most solar companies won't publish a number. We will — because the rebates do the heavy lifting and you deserve to see how.

Confirm these three figures before publishing. Rebate values move with the STC market and the battery rebate tiers. Update the amounts above (and the Zip weekly figure) with your current certificate pricing so the page always matches what you can actually deliver.

Why waiting costs you money

The federal battery rebate steps down on a set schedule through to 2030 — and since 1 May 2026 it pays at a reduced rate on capacity above 14kWh. Every step-down means the same system costs you more. This isn't a sales deadline we invented; it's legislated, and it only moves one way.

Before you sign anything

Stop buying solar from pop-up sales companies

Your solar is a 25-year investment. They will not be here for it. Here's how a typical solar sales outfit compares to a licensed trade business that's been in Pakenham since 2012.

Typical solar sales company Common

  • Interstate call centre books a "designer" who's paid on commission
  • Install subcontracted to a crew you've never spoken to
  • Hot water and plumbing work bounced to a third trade
  • Price changes on install day once they see the switchboard
  • Warranty claim means chasing a company that's already moved on

Trigger Group Us

  • Our own licensed electricians design and install — REC 36222
  • Our own licensed plumbers in-house — BPC 50819. Almost nobody in solar can say that
  • Local Pakenham office and our own crews — same business on the phone, on site, and on the warranty
  • Price confirmed in writing after we've seen your switchboard — not after we've started
  • Melbourne owned, based in Pakenham since 2012. We're not going anywhere

Straight answers

Is it really $7,999, or does that go up once you visit?

$7,999 is the complete system fully installed on a standard single-storey property where the switchboard and meter are compliant and the roof is straightforward. Some homes need a switchboard upgrade, extra isolation or additional height access — if yours does, we tell you the cost in writing before you commit, not on install day. If we can't do it at the advertised price, we say so upfront.

Do I need to apply for the rebates myself?

No. The federal battery rebate and the solar STCs are assigned to us and deducted from your invoice before you pay. You don't lodge anything, wait for anything, or get reimbursed later — the price you see is the price after rebates.

Will 20.48kWh actually run my house?

For most Melbourne households, yes — comfortably through the evening peak and overnight, including the big loads. On the call we'll look at your actual usage from your bill rather than guess, and if a smaller or larger system suits you better we'll say so.

What happens in a blackout?

The Sofar HYD-6K-LV3-PRO is a hybrid inverter and is backup-capable. Whether your home gets full or partial backup depends on your switchboard and how it's wired — our electrician confirms exactly what's possible at your place and quotes it properly.

Who actually does the install?

We do. Trigger Group employs its own licensed electricians and plumbers — REC 36222 and BPC 50819. Your job is never sold on to a subcontracted crew, which is the single most common reason solar installs go wrong in Victoria.

Can I pay it off?

Yes — Zip interest-free repayments are available. Zip Money carries a $9.95 monthly account fee (waived when your balance is $0), a one-off establishment fee of up to $99 depending on your approved limit, and any balance still owing when the interest-free term ends is charged at Zip's standard variable rate of 25.9% p.a. Approval is subject to Zip's assessment. We'll go through the options on the call.
